Coast Kings documents the early years of Brighton’s graffiti scene – from the first disciples of the New York-originated craze in the mid-1980s to the letter architects who forged the town’s distinctive style in the early 1990s.

Through the photos and words of those that were there, Coast Kings tells the story of Brighton graffiti in the era before the internet, specialised spraypaint and the proliferation of street art, when cameras were analogue, knowledge was guarded and public acceptance of graffiti wasn’t even a consideration.
