The Cryptic Mural Gallery

In 2018, after a storm blew through and leveled a building along a stretch of Academy St in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. It took a few years for the ruble to clear but once it did multiple blank walls were left behind in its wake. Since it already bordered the parking lot of our local hangout and Art Gallery Cryptic, It didn't take long for the new walls to get painted. What started out of boredom during the Covid lockdown turned into a collection of Walls & murals from top notch artists from around the world. Featuring more than 50 different Artists from the worlds of Graffiti, Murals and Street Art, all allowed totally freedom to do their thing. The murals turned into Large gatherings and then a festival with the walls being painting every 3-4 months over a 2 year period. The constant turn over was at times hard to watch as they were painted over, but it makes for a great book with the works captured and archived here forever.
