115

In 2005, "La Fonderie" was sold and the municipality of Bagnolet offered Psyckoze a cultural partnership agreement for a space located at 115 Rue Sadi Carnot. The venue was named “Le 115.” However, this new space did not meet safety standards for hosting the public. Psyckoze decided to turn it into a residency space for foreign artists wishing to develop an artistic project in Paris. Between 2005 and 2008, “Le 115” welcomed around thirty urban artists from all over the world (United States, Brazil, Iran, Chile, Taiwan, etc.), offering them a creative space with various technical skills and the opportunity to exhibit their work in Paris. Various workshops were created: painting, photography, music studio, screen printing workshop, tattoo caravan, bicycle workshop. Around fifteen artists work there permanently. The entire project is based on the exchange of skills, and artists (both permanent and resident) are welcomed free of charge. During the night of December 4 to 5, 2008, 115 was the victim of arson. The space was badly damaged and closed. Le 115 was a catalyst for energy and enthusiasm around what is now known as “street art.” It enabled many players in this culture to meet, create projects, and build this culture.
