Kickstarter project. The release is scheduled for September 2025.

The project began over four years ago. Its ambition quickly became clear: to offer a work that is unique in its approach: accessible, immersive, unbiased, and meticulously researched. We conducted over 75 interviews, collected thousands of previously unseen archives and 900 selected photos, and documented over 200 artists and 60 bands, resulting in a 560-page hardcover book in full color.

We established a structured working process: collecting archives, digitizing and processing them, verifying information, writing, and proofreading. The book offers two reading levels: immersive narratives told through a distinctive voice, and documentary-style texts that provide historical and artistic analysis of the scene.

In this book: a hand-drawn map of Bordeaux in the 1990s (by the illustrator Fafa de Bègles), testimonies from pioneers, previously unpublished anecdotes, a complete glossary of names and bands, and a foreword by Gysmo, an emblematic figure of that era.

To support this project today is to help bring to life a rare, fully independent work, and to give this local history a global reach.

The layout, designed by Clément Criseo (for Édition Terrain Vague), is in its final stages, and we are ready to launch book production as soon as funding is secured.

The project is supported by the Mériadeck Library, the central hub of the Bordeaux library network, where we will hold a launch exhibition this fall if the crowdfunding campaign succeeds.
