In 1971, the Phildadelphia Tribune mistakenly announced Cornbread’s death. To prove them wrong, Darryl McCray pursued a series of epic actions, including spray-painting an elephant at the Philadelphia Zoo and a TWA jet. This triggered a plethora of articles, interviews and quotes, propelling the once-anonymous figure to public fame.
