The Return of the King of New York
(2025)

Steven D. Ogburn, better known as Blade, is one of the artists who shaped graffiti as we know and appreciate it today. Born in New York in 1957, he holds the title “King of Graffiti” for having painted over five thousand trains with his astonishing style. Blade is credited with developing several cult graffiti styles, such as the 3D overlapping letters and the “Blockbuster Letters,” which covered the entire train car.

Printed in 150 hand-numbered copies and created together with the artist, the catalog consists of 67 pages containing the works that gave life to Blade's personal exhibition, as well as previously unpublished photographs by Martha Cooper and from the artist's archive and images of the exhibition's vernissage. Produced in 29.7 x 21 cm format, it includes a dedicated critical text by Edoardo Falcioni.
